DMCA Policy

Important Notice — ulock.io is an Intermediary

ulock.io operates as a link-intermediary service. We do not host, store, serve, or reproduce any of the content located at destination URLs submitted by Creators. A ulock.io link is a redirect pointer; clicking it passes the visitor directly to an external URL owned and operated by a third party (the Creator or the destination site).

If you believe content at a destination URL infringes your copyright, the appropriate action is to contact the operator of that destination directly.ulock.io cannot remove or modify content at external URLs that it does not host.

However, ulock.io can and will disable the short-link that points to an infringing destination upon receipt of a valid DMCA takedown notice, in accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

What We Can Do

  • Disable the ulock.io short-link so it no longer redirects to the infringing URL
  • Suspend or terminate the Creator account responsible for the infringing link
  • Maintain records of takedown notices for the statutory period

What we cannot do: We cannot remove or alter content at the destination site. That is outside our control and must be addressed with the destination's host.

How to Submit a Takedown Notice

To request that a ulock.io short-link be disabled, send a written notice to our DMCA Agent at dmca@ulock.io containing all of the following:

  1. Your full legal name, physical address, telephone number, and email address.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed (include URL or other description of the work).
  3. The specific ulock.io short-link URL(s) (e.g., https://ulock.io/abc123) that you allege point to infringing content.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or applicable law.
  5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

Notices that are missing any of the above elements may be rejected. Knowingly submitting a false or materially misrepresented notice may result in liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

Counter-Notice

If a Creator believes their link was disabled in error, they may submit a counter-notification to dmca@ulock.io containing:

  1. Your name, address, telephone number, and email address.
  2. Identification of the disabled link and its prior location.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Consent to jurisdiction of the federal district court in your jurisdiction.
  5. Your physical or electronic signature.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notice, we will notify the original complainant. If the complainant does not file a court action within 10 business days, we may restore the link at our discretion.

Repeat Infringers

ulock.io will terminate the accounts of Creators who are determined to be repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances, in accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i).
